Description
The starting hole is a three-shot par-5, which helps keep the pace of play steady. Most tee shots play over the small creek that feeds the wetlands throughout the lowlands on this part of the course. A cluster of pine trees stands as a citadel just past the tees on the right side of the hole and a broad wetland extends along the entire hole on the left. Two bunkers provide direction from the tees, the bunker on the right being a target bunker which does not come into play for most golfers, while the shorter bunker on the left can catch errant shots. The second shot plays to a generous fairway, with no sand coming into play to affect the player's psyche. The only hazard is the ever-present wetland left of the hole. The large, deep green is receptive to shots and should leave many players with par heading to the next hole.
