Description
Have you noticed that there have been no large bodies of water yet on the golf course? Golfers have encountered streams, wetlands, trees, and bunkers, but no lakes-until now. The tee shot plays over the only lake on the golf course (there's another by the practice range) to a gently rolling fairway accentuated with a bunker on the left side of the landing area. Mounds along the left side of the hole block views of the adjacent highway. The par-5 hole is the longest on the course, playing just under 600 yards from the back tee. The second shot must be careful to avoid the bunker on the right side of the fairway and the pine trees which border the unseen creek which runs along the right side of the hole. The green is open to a bump-and-run on the left side, but the angled putting surface requires greater accuracy and nerve near the back. A well-placed bunker reminds golfers that the course is coming to an end and the designer has upped the ante a little.
